about
Orange Blossom Sleep Time Tea is about a lot of things happening at one time. On a surface level it is quite literally about orange blossom water and sleep tea which I temporarily used as a remedy for a bout of insomnia. The 'conspiracies' refer to self paranoia and insecurity. Other aspects of the song are a bit flirtatious, about being infatuated with someones quirks, particularly when you don't know them that well and don't have much to go by besides their energy and the sound of 'the tone of' their speaking voice. The chorus is just an outlet of minor frustration sometimes quite literally about chores. Orange Blossom Sleep Time Tea is a concoction of quite specific feelings and strange thoughts I was going through at a very particular moment in time, some were thrilling others scary. Hope you enjoy.
lyrics
Orange Blossom sleep time tea
won't you write a story for me
I'm sick of these conspiracies
against myself from you
pick me up and spin me round
I'm obsessed with the sound
of the tone of your speaking voice
Won't you take it out yourself
I'm sick of guessing what'll come out your mouth
Won't you take it out yourself
I'm sick of guessing what'll come out your mouth
trickle in and trickle out
throw the limescale down the drain
your'e the one I dream about
coz you watched me dance in the rain
play me music in your room
we'll fly away on my witches broom
but I'm fine on your floor for now
Won't you take it out yourself
I'm sick of guessing what'll come out your mouth
Won't you take it out yourself
I'm sick of guessing what'll come out your mouth
Won't you take it out yourself
I'm sick of guessing what'll come out your mouth
Won't you take it out yourself
I'm sick of guessing what'll come out your mouth
Won't you take it out yourself
I'm sick of guessing what'll come out your mouth
Won't you take it out yourself
I'm sick of guessing what'll come out your mouth
Orange blossom tea
won't you write a story for me?
I'm sick of these conspiracies
against myself from you
